For most businesses, websites are a BIG DEAL. It’s how you communicate with current and prospective clients when they’re not at your physical location (or these days, it may even be the primary way they access info about your biz!) Has it been a while since you’ve taken a look at your site? Check out these 6 signs you might want to look into giving your site a little (or big!) facelift:
Changing your hours? What about your covid policy? Did you add someone to your team? Get a brand refresh? Are your services accurate? There are so many reasons you’ll want to make sure your website is easy to update! More than just the content on the site, it’s important that the back end is updated to the latest version of whatever platform you’re using to avoid any vulnerabilities. And as a bonus, updating your website helps search engines like Google notice that you’re still relevant!
Maybe you cringe every time you see the stock photos on your site…or the photos you do have are of your last office or your last haircut! Maybe the colours and fonts aren’t the same as what you’re using in your branding on social media or print! When someone visits your website, are they seeing a cohesive look and feel for your business that matches your other collateral?
Your website is a big investment! And an important one. You should feel proud to show it off by linking to it whenever possible and really utilizing it as the asset for your business that it is. If you avoid telling people about your site or avoid directing them there, that could be a red flag! 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Do you find yourself saying things like “oh so sorry, it’s old” or “my apologies, I haven’t updated it in a while” or “don’t look at our website – everything on Instagram is up-to-date”? These are all signs that your website could use a bit of a refresh!
You know it, we know it…everyone know…browsing and scrolling on your phone is where it’s at. If you’ve taken a peek at your website on your phone and didn’t like what you saw, it is probably time to do a little work to get that baby optimized for mobile!
As business owners, the number one thing we want is to create a positive experience for our clients and customers! For many of us, the customer journey often includes a visit to your website. Have you heard directly from customers about their experience using yours? If the feedback hasn’t been that great, it’s probably time to take a look at revamping some of your site.
