This year marked the fifth time that the Heart of HGA has collected and delivered toy donations to Santas Anonymous, so we wanted to give you some background on why this initiative means so much to us.
What is Santas Anonymous?
630 CHED Santas Anonymous has been around since 1955, and has carried its singular mission for more than 60 years: “to see every child receive a toy at Christmas.”
- Every year, Santas Anonymous delivers toys to more than 20,000 children over the holidays.
- With donation drop-off locations spread across Edmonton and the surrounding areas, Santas Anonymous is one of the few charities that galvanizes the entire community around its goal.
Why do we Participate?
The answer is simple: because it is a great opportunity to engage our network of staff and clients in a great charity.
- Every year, we set up the HGA Group office as a collection point for new, unused toys, which makes it as simple as possible for our staff, clients, and friends to drop off donations.
- This year we had help from our friends at Oilersnation in both material donations and an awareness campaign on our social media channels. You can watch a video of the Oilersnation crew dropping off their donations here.
What does it Mean to Us?
The Heart of HGA works to contribute to staff-selected charities all year long, but this is our largest and longest running initiative. It gives us a chance to make a concrete and material difference in the lives of underprivileged children across the city that we call home.
We are extremely fortunate to work with some of Edmonton’s most successful entrepreneurs and business owners, and this is our chance to give back to the community that raised them— and us.
